Improbable believes in a future where new, virtual worlds will augment human experience and become as meaningful, lasting and rich as the physical world. We call this the Multiversal Self.
Our platform, SpatialOS, lets developers transcend the limits of regular computation, allowing swarms of servers running in the cloud to cooperate in order to simulate worlds far larger and more complex than any single server could.
At Improbable, you are surrounded by people who want to improve everything and everyone around them, and who compel you to improve yourself. We’re motivated by the fulfilment of solving hard problems to achieve something profound and transformative.
Your Mission:
A Technical Delivery Manager helps self-organising teams achieve company goals with just enough process to be predictable, scalable and continuously improving
As a Technical Delivery Manager at Improbable, your role sits cross-functionally across our engineering, marketing and customer-facing teams in the Games Business Unit. You are responsible for empowering teams to support the delivery of multiple projects as they anticipate and mitigate risks, track and communicate timelines to the wider business and leadership, and continuously evolve their roadmap to align with the company strategy.
We currently have two Senior Technical Delivery Management positions open:
Games Platform Ecosystems:
As a Technical Delivery Manager overseeing the Ecosystems division, you are responsible for the delivery of Game Development Kits and Services, integrating seamlessly with game engines (e.g. Unreal and Unity), to provide “game-in-a-box” modules built on top of our SpatialOS platform. Working closely with globally distributed partner studios, you devise strategies aimed at maximising the success of our customers’ games, by providing features, productivity tools, hands-on support and best practices. But your work doesn’t stop there! As you engineer, battle-test and iterate on groundbreaking technical challenges, you will also work with our marketing teams to ensure our products are ready for release to our Open Platform and prospective customers.
SpatialOS
As a Technical Delivery Manager overseeing the SpatialOS division, you are responsible for looking after our core platform which lets developers transcend the limits of regular computation, allowing swarms of servers in the cloud cooperate to simulate worlds far larger and more complex than any single server could. Working closely with globally distributed partner studios, you devise strategies aimed at maximising the success of our customers’ games, by scaling our platform horizontally and vertically, providing new APIs and language SDKs, unlocking new geographies and keeping our customer's data secure. But your work doesn’t stop there! As you engineer, battle-test and iterate on groundbreaking technologies, you also work with the product marketing to package up these innovations into quarterly product releases to our Open Platform and prospective business development customers.

As Technical Delivery Managers, we have four key values:

  • Structured Improvement: we define and iterate frameworks that enable our divisions to deliver company goals; these frameworks are the abstraction layer between engineering processes and those from the wider business, and allow to tie in company goals to our product deliverables.
  • Transparent Communication: we create communication hubs through which information flows; whether this is a status, a risk, a trade-off made or a learning, we ensure it is shared to all relevant parties in a transparent and constructive way.
  • Facilitate Collaboration: we provide guidance for cross-engineering collaboration to ensure it’s effective, by defining process that allows multiple teams to innovate and deliver projects in unison.
  • Inspire Trust: we inspire trust by being helpful, positive and impartial, influencing our surroundings without authority. We are a voice a reassurance when things go wrong, focused on finding solutions and mitigating impact.

We would like to hear from you if you have...

  • A deep understanding of Agile frameworks and Lean principles, at the level of the principles and values, to enable appropriate application as well as innovation
  • A strong ability to understand complex systems, relentlessly managing the technical and business risk landscape, anticipating and mitigating emerging issues
  • Experience facilitating and leading continual planning processes in a complex and exciting environment
  • Proven experience on achieving goals and hitting deadlines, based on company-wide objectives, regardless of the obstacles
  • An ability to facilitate, catalyse and lead organisational change and transformation, drawing on change management, organisation culture, organisation development and systems thinking
  • A high level of emotional intelligence, excellent communication skills, ability to listen with empathy and enable people to act by increasing insight
  • You’re excited to be part of the vibrant Delivery Community at Improbable, challenging and improving processes to increase the effectiveness of a team or division.

In 2011 SkySlope started out in the third bedroom of our CEO’s house with just him and two others. Every year since then we’ve experienced insane growth and after growing out of our previous 3 offices we have now settled into our new home in downtown Sacramento only two blocks away from the new arena and right in the heart of the action. The team has now grown from the original 3 to over 130 and our new space allows for us to aggressively move towards our goal of being 200 strong by the end of 2019.

By the power of an amazing product and tons of Red Bull we now have over 160,000 users spread out across 5000 offices nationwide. We’ve been successful because we obsess over building cutting edge software that makes the Real Estate world a better place. 8 out of the top 15 Real Estate Brokerages in the nation are currently using software in order to be paperless and all 8 of them use our product. But, despite being happy with what we’ve achieved we know that as industry leaders in our space there’s a lot of work left to be done. Because of that, in October 2017 we announced that SkySlope will become a part of the Fidelity National Financial (NYSE: FNF) family. This partnership will allow us to not only grow faster than we ever have before, but it will also allow us to build exciting new products for our customers while maintaining the same broker and agent-centric approach that we’ve become known for over the years.
